TRANSITION

We started our transition journey with the North East Climate Change Network in 2021.

Aberdeenshire goes green on the Scottish Coastal Path.
Following the example of the North Highland Way project, the Scottish Coastal Path can also become multi use. In 2014, The Highland Council consulted the local communities along the north coast, and the Friends of the North Highland Way are already benefitting from its ongoing development.

Friends of the North Highland Way look at the north of Scotland, not only in ways to get out and about in the north of Scotland, but also looking at the science in the area between John o Groats and Durness, and 10 miles inland, as specified in the The Highland Councils document dated 2014. The route itself was recognised by VisitScotland in January 2024, and opened at John o Groats in February 2024. This is the ultimate “green project” and the group now look forward to looking at the Scottish coastal Path both on the west and in the east.

We are proud to support Charliehouse, who have come up with Barry the Baton’s successor. Barry’s trips.
